China’s NHSA Holds Symposium with Pharmaceutical Enterprises on High-Quality Development During the 15th Five-Year Plan

The National Healthcare Security Administration (NHSA) held a symposium with 16 pharmaceutical companies to discuss industry development and gather feedback. NHSA Director Zhang Ke noted that during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, China’s medical insurance system累计 spent approximately 13 trillion yuan, providing stable funding for pharmaceutical industry development. During the “15th Five-Year Plan,” the NHSA will continue to standardize centralized procurement, build a unified national pharmaceutical procurement market, and support innovation while maintaining affordability. The administration will also promote direct settlement between medical insurance and pharmaceutical enterprises, and leverage China’s drug registration system and international procurement platforms to help companies expand into global markets.
